Dan Bailey is back in the league. After a crazy two weeks for Bailey, the second-most accurate kicker in NFL history is now a Minnesota Viking. With Bailey’s signing, it is obvious the league might be saying kickers with little to no experience in the NFL, are not the best for a team.
First, in the final roster cuts for the Dallas Cowboys, Bailey was released, as the Cowboys decided Brett Maher was the future, while at the time, Maher had not kicked in a regular season game. Although Maher still has his job in Dallas, he missed his first career attempt in week 1.
The Minnesota Vikings though took Daniel Carlson in the fifth round of the draft in April. Two weeks later and three missed field goals against the Green Bay Packers, Carlson is out and Bailey is in. With the move, the Vikings hope that Bailey can make those crucial kicks when the time comes. Fantasy advice – the Vikings score points so Bailey is the kicker you need to pick up.
